PERMANENT SOCIAL MEDIA BAN BEING PREPARED IN ZIMBABWE

Image
Intricate plans are being worked on in Zimbabwe to permanently ban Western social media platforms are currently being undertaken in Zimbabwe. A reaction to the massive abuse of social media by Zimbabweans both in and outside the country, this overhaul will completely transform the way in which Zimbabweans interact with each other and the rest of the world. There are two processes currently running in tandem. The first is that, with the blocking of the social media sites currently underway as I write this, the blocked social media sites are being combed methodically in order to for government to put together a comprehensive list of the "radical terrorist" network they say was active on Twitter, Facebook, Whatsapp and other platforms. Timelines and walls are being examined, using a sophisticated algorithm which triggers specific words and phrases. The flagged walls and timelines will then be queued for physical examination. DIPLOMATS/ NGO COMMUNITY'S TAKE ON NELSON CHAMISA'S SUPPORT BASE

Image
Confidence or panic? The level of discourse on Zimbabwe's social media sphere was the talk of a gathering of diplomats and the NGO Community recently, with focus the acrobatics being performed by Nelson Chamisa's supporters. At an Africa Day dinner on 24 May this year, I listened in horror as foreign diplomats and NGO-types dissected what they all agreed was an unbelievable degeneration of discourse on Zimbabwe's social media platforms. But that was not the revelation of the evening, no. One diplomat had a perspective that I found difficult not to go along with. The behaviour you are seeing from those that purport to support Chamisa is informed not by passion, but by panic, he ...

Zimbabwe Most Brilliant News Site!

Image
http://www.mukoma.com  - a smoking new website that lists Zimbabwean news stories from all over the world and you get to vote on the ones you like, therefore guiding other readers to quality content on the web. You will never have to visit another site that simply lists other people's stories ever again because this beats them all Please also sign our petition to free 2 year old Nigel Mutemagau from Maximum Security Prison. To read his story and sign the petition, please click here I stumbled across something absolutely wonderful yesterday. It is a new Zimbabwean news aggregator and I think it is by far the best news portal on Zimbabwean news. This looks fairly new and the concept is the same as muti.com in South Africa or digg.com (which is more universal). For those who do not know, this sort of site works like this: readers submit stories they like on Zimbabwe, stories they think are valuable. Other readers then vote for that story as well if they like it and it goes up the rank...
