Tsvangirai Deputy Gets United States To Lift IMF Veto On Zimbabwe

Image
Prime Minister Morgan Tsvangirai is seen here at the burial of Mrs Takawira at the Zimbabwe National Heroes Acre on Monday (day before yesterday). Just to his right, partly obscured, is Zimbabwe's Kingmaker, Retired General Solomon Mujuru, without whom Mugabe would not have become leader of ZANU PF. Tsvangirai's deputy, Thokozani Khupe (that should be ThokoZANU Khupe after this), has prevailed on the Americans to lift their IMF veto on Zimbabwe, fulfilling one of Mugabe's dearest wishes. Harare, Zimbabwe, 20 January 2010 Deputy Prime Minister Thoko zanu Khupe, who is also Morgan Tsvangirai's deputy in the MDC-Tsvangirai, has prevailed upon America to lift its veto on restoring Zimbabwe's full rights at the next meeting of the IMF Directors at Bretton Woods in the Washington. The new United States ambassador to Zimbabwe, Charles Ray, confirmed to the media yesterday that this was the case: "We would want to assure Zimbabwe that once the issue of restoring Zimba...

World Bank Scrambles To Save Tsvangirai

World Bank Headquarters in Bretton Woods: The Bank scrambled to try and clarify its role in the alleged slush fund set up for Morgan Tsvangirai's staff in the Zimbabwe Government. But their explanation fails to exonerate the Prime Minister and his party. Besides, the damage has already been done, with the State newspaper the Sunday Mail again carrying the story today as if it was new. This is coming a couple of days after the Herald made this issue its front page banner this last week, prompting expressions of revulsion from Zimbabwe's unemployed and those getting by on US$100 per month while the Prime Minister and his people pocket as much as US$7 000 per month as "salaries" from the World Bank slush fund Harare, Zimbabwe 13 September 2009 The World Bank rushed yesterday to issue a statement regarding revelations that the Bretton Woods institution i paying salaries of as much as US$7 000 for staff in the MDC and the Prime Minister's office, as well as other MDC m...

This Spells The End Of Morgan Tsvangirai And The MDC

Image
Prime Minister Tsvangirai, seen here on his tour of Europe to drum up support for the Inclusive Government, has been revealed today to be accepting huge sums of money for payment of staff salaries for people working in his office. Some are getting as much as US$7 000 per month. The revelations have sparked levels of anger against Tsvangirai that I have never seen, except within ZANU PF circles. He is coming off as not only uncaring, but also a liar, for claiming that all civil servants, including himself, earn only US$100 per month. People are angry because employers are using this as a benchmark when they pay their own workforce Harare, Zimbabwe, 11 September 2009 You have by now heard, of course. While the Prime Minister and his Finance Minister are telling Zimbabwe's struggling workforce that they only earn US$100 per month, they are actually getting as much as US$7 000 per month. This is the main story on the front page of The Herald, Zimbabwe's ZANU PF-aligned state newspa...

SADC Continues To "Fix" Tsvangirai

Image
It was at this SADC Heads of State Meeting (where Mugabe attended as the Head of State of Zimbabwe and seen here flanked by Jakaya Kikwete of Tanzania and the absolute monarch of Swaziland, King Mswati III), that SADC leaders openly declared their continued contempt for Morgan Tsvangirai. The presidents of Angola(through a representative), Namibia, Malawi, the Democratic Republic of Congo and Mozambique, the absolute monarch of Swaziland, the Prime Minister of Lesotho openly declared at the last SADC Heads of State meeting that the regional body should do absolutely nothing to help strengthen Morgan Tsvangirai in Zimbabwe. This was on March 30, apparently, at a SADC Heads of State meeting in Swaziland. It has emerged that Jakaya Kikwete, the president of Tanzania, whom I told you very last last year had personally called Mugabe with regards the disappearance of Jestina Mukoko and Gandi Mudzingwa, had made a very sensible suggestion at the meeting, which is what prompted the open declar...
